Frequently Asked Questions

Do not hesitate to give us a call if you have questions about Rise!

  • Q: I've never done pilates before-how do I know where to begin?

Don’t worry. Many of our clients had never taken a class or had knowledge of how “to do” pilates.

We encourage beginners to start with a Pilates Basics Class or Private Pilates so we can gauge what classes would be best for you and what classes you are comfortable with.

We also want to make sure your individual goals are met with the classes you begin taking.

  • Q: Do I need to do a one-on-one class? I’ve done classes before?

Many of our clients can begin with our group equipment classes, especially if they have experience with group equipment pilates.

Additionally, you can at any time take a one-on-one class with our instructors to help you achieve your personal goals.

Again-our goals are to make sure your individual goals(health, movement, strength, etc.) are being met.

  • Q: What do I need to bring to the yoga or meditation classes-do I need to bring my own mat?

We supply mats and equipment. Dress comfortably and wear your socks. We do prefer all guests wear some type of socks with grip.

  • Q: The pilates equipment classes look overwhelming-are they harder to do than mat pilates?

This is something we hear quite a bit.

Our equipment classes(Foundations, Progressions, Adaptive, Mixed Equipment Class, Basics, etc.) offer the ability for the instructor to create an individualized movement experience in a small group format to best cater to your specific goals as well as meet your body where it is, support your movement experience then ultimately grow and challenge yourself appropriately all within the same session.

Mat Pilates classes leverage your own body weight and can use props like rings or balls to assist or resist the movement. Both equipment classes and mat pilates can be accessible to beginners.

Private Pilates is a great way to help decide a starting point but ultimately the pilates method is all encompassing of which both mat and equipment classes used consistently together provide the best results.

  • Q: How do I find out if my insurance will cover the Physical Therapy/Clinical Pilates sessions?

Rise Integrative (Katie Daniels Buyniski DPT, P.C.)  is a participating provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you would like to know about your particular coverage, we are happy to assist can be reached at admin@riseintegrative.com or 219-595-RISE.

What if Rise Integrative is considered out of network with my plan?

You can still submit receipts for physical therapy care to your insurance or HSA/FSA for reimbursement. All therapy sessions are 1-on-1 with a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy.

  • Q: Do I need a referral from my doctor?

Indiana is a “direct access” state for Physical Therapy.  You can be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist for 42 days without a referral from your individual provider (physician, podiatrist, psychologist, chiropractor, dentist, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant).

Your insurance plan may require you to have a referral or a prescription for physical therapy for the service to be covered.

  • Q: Are Pilates classes for general public of just for people who need therapy?

We offer Pilates classes for the general public any and all levels are welcome here! If new to Pilates, start with our Reformer Basics Class, or a private pilates to find the best fit class or service for you.
